PAUWELS SLIM® transformer is now in operation in several major UK Windfarms. Over 100 are now installed at 2.6MVA alone and the next generation is already in testing to meet the needs of even bigger Wind turbines for land and off shore.
PAUWELS launched its innovative compact SLIM® transformer over 2 years ago at the Hanover Fair. Only now competitors are catching on to the benefits of this technology and following the lead set by Pauwels with already several hundred units in operation.
- Pauwels, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-performance distribution and power transformers, introduced the new ultra compact transformer: the SLIM® designed for special applications such as the new generation of Windturbines and for minimum space locations.

This is the case with SLIM®, an ultra compact high-performance transformer, developed to meet the requirements of a client involved in wind power generation. The application required a specific reduced-size high performance transformer capable of high power rating capacity and easy placement within the windturbine tower itself.
