Pauwels remains one of the biggest manufacturers and suppliers of oil filled and Cast Resin type electrical power distribution transformer solutions in the UK and Ireland and indeed in Western Europe. Pauwels was established in 1947. The company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Crompton Greaves Ltd. This further extends the global capabilities of the business
The current range of manufacture extends from 15kVA single phase pole mounting type distribution transformers and package substations up to large power transformers at several hundred MVA with voltages up to 500kV. Advanced compact wind generator transformers are custom made for all wind applications, onshore and offshore.
Pauwels transformers are used world-wide for reliable electricity generation, transmission and distribution.
Due to exceptional increases in major component material costs all transformer prices have risen rapidly this year. Electrical steel, copper, constructional steel and oil are materials which make a large contribution to the finished transformer price.
