The SLIM® transformer combines the latest innovative transformer design with high-tech, high-performance materials. Thanks to its marketing partnership and close technical cooperation with DuPont, Pauwels used DuPont's NOMEX® thermal technology together with silicon oil as key components in the SLIM®.

As clearly expressed by the combined PAUWELS/NOMEX® brand logo found on the SLIM®, the integrated experience of two industry leaders - Pauwels and DuPont - means that the SLIM® not only meets current industry standards, it also exceeds them. Most noticeably, the SLIM® transformer offers an overload potential up to 30 % higher than conventional units with the same power rating. The SLIM® is lighter and more compact, hence easier to transport and install. And, thanks to its small size, it can be placed in tight on-site spots, reducing the overall cost of property investment.

Able to resist high temperatures as well as offering the most advanced safety and environmental features, NOMEX® brand paper and pressboard add to overall SLIM® benefits, such as a broader range of operating temperatures, higher dielectric resistance, improved heat management and almost zero-level thermal aging. This means more reliability, less downtime, less maintenance and overall better performance on the entire electricity network. Additionally, the streamlined size means using less precious base material like copper, steel and silicon oil, a non-toxic, environmentally friendly and recyclable material.
